You've enjoyed many afternoons with your beloved bistro set, but it has seen better days. Give it a facelift! Spray paint is an easy way to give it a pop of colour and a lasting finish, so you can use it for many years to come.
- At first, you'll need to sand any spots on the bistro set that show loose paint or rust spots. This will help create the smoothest surface for the paint.
- Shake the spray paint can for approximately one minute after you hear the mixing ball rattle. You want your paint to be thoroughly mixed.
- Next, hold the can 10-16" away from the surface, then begin spraying in light, even coats create a durable, long-lasting finish. Each additional coat should be applied within the hour or after 48 hours for best results.
- Lastly, let your last coat of paint dry for approximately 1 hour before handling. It's best to wait approximately 24 hours before you sit down to it with your morning coffee.
Tip: A few light coats of Tremclad Rust Primer (for heavily rusted surfaces) are recommended before spray painting. Primer maximizes the rust protection on your outdoor metal project.
